THE STAGS CRUMBLE AT THE DEATH IN EIGHT-GOAL CRACKER
AFC Totton and Dorchester Town shared the points at the Snows Stadium, in a dramatic eight-goal thriller.
Tony LEE scored his first goal for the Stags since rejoining from Poole Town, burying the opener on the 18th minute. It then became a back-and-forth affair, with both teams employing a direct style of play.
Luke HALLETT made it two before the half-time whistle, beating the keeper to a header and making it seem like it would be a predictable win for the Stags.
Totton’s fine form continued in the second half with Scott RENDELL converting a penalty on the hour mark to boost their lead.
However, there was a twist to proceedings as Olaf KOSZELA scored just two minutes later to give Dorchester confidence.
As the Stags continued to fight to stay in front, the momentum shifted as Will SPETCH scored a second for Dorchester, giving the Magpies' away fans hope of a comeback.
In a competitive, scrappy affair there was another penalty, this time for the away team with Will FLETCHER completing the comeback, dampening the home crowd.
However, Totton’s man of the match, Tony LEE would not let the away crowd chants last for long, scoring a one-on-one chance with the keeper, slotting it in the bottom corner.
Ex-Stag Shaquille GWENGWE equalised with a late goal, bringing an enthralling end-to end match to a close.
Totton will look to bounce back away at strugglers Didcot Town on Saturday.
