TOTTON RUE MISSED CHANCES AS DOLPHINS TAKE A POINT
A swift start saw a barrage of early Totton chances, Tony Lee striking the post and heroics from Poole 'keeper Ben Taylor barely keeping the game level.
Totton were punished when a loose pass from Roddy Collins sprung a counter-attack which was finished by Tom HEWLETT on 23 minutes.
Taylor saved from Lee's header but just before the break, Tony LEE made up for missed chances by slotting the ball into the near post to send the two sides in level.
The second half began in end-to-end fashion. Totton mounted pressure and Poole looked to hit their hosts on the counter-attack - and The Dolphins did just that when they retook the lead through Gerson DA COSTA RAMOS in the 73rd minute.
It didn’t hamper Totton’s spirit, though, as they fought through the rain. A tremendous free-kick from Tony LEE just outside of the box fizzed into the bottom-right corner on 81 minutes.
More heroics from Ben Taylor prevented Lee from completing his hat-trick; AFC Bournemouth loanee Ash Clarke struck the inside of the post from 20 yards and Totton failed to convert several other chances, leaving them having to settle for a point.
