CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW YEAR signals a time for rest for many but not for our Non-League footballers, for whom the fixture list rarely gets busier.
It is the traditional half-way point for the season, when we know which teams will be seriously challenging for titles and promotion, and who will be trying to fight off the threat of relegation at the wrong end of the table.
To say that AFC Totton are very much in the Southern League Premier Division South title race is an understatement. Despite impressive form from some of their title rivals, The Stags have their destiny in their own hands - but it's all still to play for!
As of 19 December 2024, Sholing, Poole Town, Havant & Waterlooville, Gosport Borough, Frome Town, Plymouth Parkway, Marlow, the current league leaders Merthyr Town, Bracknell Town, Dorchester Town, Tiverton Town and Winchester City have all still to visit the Snows Stadium this season.
