AFC Totton AFC Totton Pitching In - Partners with Southern Football League

A preseason game against Totton & Eling FC for the annual Linden Cup added an extra layer of competitiveness as AFC Totton ran out deserved 3-0 winners, and a game which was more encouraging on performance rather than the scoreline.

After a tough week against Southampton and Eastleigh, the penultimate preseason game against local neighbours Totton & Eling provided a good opportunity to refind the early form the Stags had shown in the early games. From the first whistle Totton dominated the ball with Jack Masterton and Harry Medway proving to be a solid core in helping the team keep control of the ball and move forward.

The first half was filled with chance after chance, and the first goal was delivered by Hisham Kasimu after some fine link up play between Britton and Medway.

The second half followed on from how Totton finished the first, with a clever long ball played through chased by Kasimu who rounded the defender and laid it back to Freddie Read to make it 2-0.

It seemed as though the game was over by this point, but after a few more spurned chances, it was Jack Hoey who wrapped up a brilliant team performance with another cut back from Kasimu.

AFC Totton now prepare for their final preseason game against Havant & Waterlooville, before kicking off the new season on Saturday 14th August at home against Plymouth Parkway.
