Overall Description of Duties: –

The role has day-to-day oversight of all matters relating to Club Secretary duties and is the principal point of contact between the football authorities and AFC Totton.

Core Responsibilities: –

  • Take full responsibility for Club compliance with all rules and regulations of the various football authorities and the timely completion of relevant documentation.
  • Facilitate and deliver the registration and re-engagement of all players in accordance with the regulations by which the Club is bound. This will include all player contracts, registrations, loan agreements and transfer documents and responsibility for all issues related to players’ work permits.
  • Co-ordinate and maintain player disciplinary matters and records, including where necessary the preparation of appeals to the FA and the Southern League.
  • Notify the Chairman and the Club Executive as regards any disciplinary, conduct or other matters or issues possibly impacting on the Club’s reputation or finances.
  • Liaise with all relevant football bodies, e.g. day-to-day contact with the Southern League, Football Association and other relevant authorities, attending meetings as and when required.
  • Manage the arrangements and reporting requirements relating to match officials for all home fixtures.
  • Attend all first team matches and liaise with away clubs on the arrangements for both home and away matches.
  • Other ad hoc duties as necessary to ensure smooth running of the Club.

Specific Knowledge Required: –

  • Appropriate relevant experience i.e. Club Secretary experience, knowledge of football club administration
  • Good level of IT Skills (including MS Word, Excel, email and Internet)
