Mark Gamble joins AFC Totton!
Mark Gamble has joined the Stags today from Wimborne Town, making it the third signing from the local club in the last three months.
Gamble follows in the footsteps of ex-teammates Ian Oliver and Patrick Wilson, who have steadied the ship at the Testwood Stadium, contributing heavily to the five match unbeaten run the club are currently on.
The prolific striker will be fighting for a regular start in the Totton line up, joining the likes of Nathaniel Sherborne, Dylan Knight and Mark Lilley, showing the strength in depth the squad now have.
Manager Steve Hollick is delighted with the new signing and believes Gamble will push the team to perform even more: “Mark is an excellent signing for the club. He’s a proven goal scorer at this level (being the top scorer for the Magpies the last two seasons) and means we can look ahead to the rest of the season and start thinking about next seasons campaign.
“He’s hungry and wants to play. He’s chomping at the bit to get involved after his injury and if looking forward to linking up squad this weekend.
A lot of the credit needs to go to the club and Chairman, Andy Straker. Andy’s been very proactive in the deal and has been the driving force to make the deal happen. Hopefully this signing shows the ambition of the football club and the exec committee.”
The new signing could make his debut this Saturday away to Yate Town, but will have to wait until at least the Bridgwater game on 23rd January to make his first home appearance.
Welcome to the club, Mark!
