THE SEARCH FOR PROMOTION continues at the Snows Stadium as AFC Totton host Bracknell Town this Saturday.

Last time out, The Stags prevailed at Chertsey Town, winning 2-1 with a positive overall performance. Goals came through Sam Magri from the penalty spot in the 38th minute and from Roddy Collins – with his first goal for the club – in the 75th minute.

BRACKNELL TOWN – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:

Bracknell are 13th in the Southern League Premier Division South table, with 43 points from 34 games. The Robins started the season with a 0-0 draw at home to Poole Town. They then lost 1-3 at Hanwell Town but bounced back with a 2-1 away win against Frome Town, and a 2-0 home success against Tiverton Town.

They were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup at the First Round Qualifying stage by South Park (Reigate). They then experienced four consecutive draws in the league draws before they were beaten 3-6 by Lewes in Third Round Qualifying for the Isuzu FA Trophy.

Their league form remained consistent, as they went unbeaten in their next six games, winning three and drawing three. However, they then won only two of their next 12 league games – a run that included six defeats and four draws.

Approaching Saturday’s games at the Snows Stadium, The Robins’ have won three and lost three of their previous six outings. But, there has been one ray of light in Bracknell’s season; on Tuesday night, they beat MK Dons to reach the final of this season’s Berks & Bucks Senior Cup.

IN THE REVERSE FIXTURE…

Bracknell Town and AFC Totton engaged in a crazy opening 10 minutes on their way to a one-all draw at Bottom Meadow.

Charlie Austin thought he should have had a penalty after just 20 seconds. He danced between two defenders and appeared to be tripped, only for the referee to wave play-on. But just two minutes later, the ex-Saints striker found space on the left and clipped a measured cross into the middle for Ethan TAYLOR to head home his second goal of the campaign.

The Robins weren’t behind for long, though. A high cross from their right flank was knocked down on the far side by new signing Sam Ashton and Joel ROLLINSON stole in behind the last defender to side foot the home side back on level terms with just six minutes on the clock.

The second half didn’t live up to the first and the game ended 1-1.
