AFTER THE POSTPONEMENT ON NEW YEAR’S DAY, The Stags travel to Walton & Hersham on Saturday for their first game of 2025.
Last time out, AFC Totton had to come from behind twice to salvage a point at home to Poole Town, with Tony Lee begging a brace against his former club.
WALTON & HERSHAM – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:
The Swans are currently in 6th place in the Southern League Premier Division South, with 34 points from 22 games. They visited the Snows Stadium for the opening match of the 2024/25 season, and lost 0-1 to the 10-men Stags. But Walton & Hersham bounced back to win their next four games, which included a huge 5-2 win against currenty league leaders Merthyr Town.
In First Round Qualifying for the Emirates FA Cup they required a replay to get past Hanworth Villa. A win and a draw in the league came before a 2-1 home win against Farnborough in the Second Qualifying Round, before they fell to defeat against Tonbridge Angels in Third Round Qualifying. In the Isuzu FA Trophy, The Swans made their exit after losing to Ashford United.
Walton & Hersham remained winless in their next three games, drawing two and losing one. That patchy form has continued since; in their last 10 outings they have won four, drew three and lost three – including their last match in which Merthyr exacted their revenge with a 5-2 victory of their own.

IN THE REVERSE FIXTURE…
On opening day of the 2024/25 season, AFC Totton faced Walton & Hersham at the Snows Stadium. The Stags managed to win 1-0 with a 23rd-minute goal from debutant Marcus Daws. Despite having Josh Owers sent-off before half-time, The Stags defended superbly to hold on for the win.
Tony Lee goes close during the opening day encounter between AFC Totton and Walton & Hersham at the Snows Stadium in August 2024.
