MATCH PREVIEW: Stags take on Frome Town at the Snows on Tuesday Night

IT WILL BE A TUESDAY NIGHT under the lights at the Snows Stadium this midweek, as AFC Totton play host to Frome Town.

On Saturday, The Stags pulled off a comeback against nine-man Gosport Borough to win 2-1 at home, with two late goals courtesy of Tony Lee and substitute Scott Rendell with his first touch of ball.

FROME TOWN – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:

The Robins are currently second from bottom of the Southern League Premier Division South table in 21^st place with 20 points from 22 games played.

Frome started the season with a 1-0 away win over Gosport Borough. However, they then found themselves winless until September, when they needed two attempts to defeat Easington Sports of the United Counties League Premier Division South in First Round Qualifying for the Emirates FA Cup.

It wasn’t until Tuesday 03 December that The Robins recorded their first league win of the 2024/25 campaign – a consisting of 12 games, four draws and eight defeats, including their elimination from the FA Cup at the Second Round Qualifying stage by Larkhall Athletic and a penalty shoot-out defeat to Havant & Waterlooville in Isuzu FA Trophy Third Round Qualifying.

But following their 2-0 win at Hanwell Town, Frome won two more on the spin – a 3-0 home success against Swindon Supermarine and a 5-0 victory over Plymouth Parkway, in between which they also made progress in the Somerset Premier Cup with a 2-0 win at Bath City.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t remain undefeated in December, suffering a 1-4 walloping at Bracknell Town on Saturday 28 December. In their only outing so far in 2025, The Robins produced a creditable 3-1 win at Winchester City, leaving them eight points from safety but with four games in-hand over Sholing, the team currently occupying the coveted 18^th spot.
