AFC TOTTON RETURN to league action as they welcome Hanwell Town to the Snows Stadium on Saturday 12 October 2024.
Last weekend, the 10-man Stags produced an outstanding performance against the Southern League Premier Division South leaders Merthyr Town to progress into the First Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Trophy.
HANWELL TOWN – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:
The Geordies come into this game currently sitting in 12th place in the league table, with 12 points from nine games.
Hanwell began the season with an away defeat at Wimborne Town. But, back-to-back wins followed with home victories over Bracknell Town and Swindon Supermarine. The Geordies then faced the league-leading Martyrs in South Wales, where they lost 1-2. They bounced back just two days later with a 2-0 home win over divisional newcomers Marlow.
It took a replay to overcome Sheppey United of the Isthmian League South East Division in the First Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup; Hanwell won 6-0 at their Reynolds Field home after having drawn 1-1 in Kent.
However, a winless streak of five games followed. In the league, they fought out two away draws at Taunton Town (3-3) and Walton & Hersham (2-2), before exiting the FA Cup with a 0-2 defeat at home to Chertsey at the Second Round Qualifying stage. The Geordies then drew at home to Gloucester City, before losing by a single goal at home to Sholing.
Last weekend, they drew 1-1 with Berkhamsted in their Isuzu FA Trophy Third Round Qualifying tie, before scraping through 3-1 via the penalty shoot-out.
