THE SNOWS STADIUM WILL HOST a top of the table encounter on Saturday, when current Southern League Premier Division South leaders Gloucester City come to take on The Stags.

Totton triumphed last time out, with a 2-1 win from their tricky Tuesday night trip to Plymouth Parkway thanks to Tony Lee’s first-half brace.

GLOUCESTER CITY – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:
Gloucester currently sit on top of the pile, having been relegated from the National League North last season. They went the first three games of the season unbeaten, drawing 3-3 on the opening day at Taunton Town, then picking up back-to-back home wins against Plymouth Parkway and Wimborne Town.

A tough away fixture followed, though, and – like Totton – The Tigers suffered their first league defeat of the season at Dorchester Town’s Avenue Stadium. But they bounced back brilliantly to win 2-1 at home against fellow high-flyers Merthyr Town.

City made progress in the Emirates FA Cup, winning their First Round Qualifying tie against Paulton Rovers, before adding two more league wins against Marlow and Hungerford Town. In FA Cup Second Round Qualifying, Gloucester faced-off against fellow Southern League outfit Gosport Borough. After a 2-2 draw at Privett Park, The Tigers took the replay 2-0 at their own Meadow Park home.

A goalless draw at Hanwell Town was followed by a 1-0 win at Tiverton Town to maintain Gloucester’s positive start to their league campaign. They needed a penalty shoot-out to overcome Wimborne Town in Third Round Qualifying for the Isuzu FA Trophy, before victories over Havant & Waterlooville and Frome Town in their last two outings – which mean that Gloucester City will be looking to make it four consecutive league wins when they come to SO40 at the weekend, for a match that pitches Second-vs-First with top spot on offer to the winners.
