AFC Totton
LAST SATURDAY EVENING (12 October) we hosted a ‘Sleep Out Under the Stars’ on the AFC Totton training pitch attended by 20+ Specsavers employees, AFC Totton and YMCA team members.
The evening began with an AFC Totton Events Speed Quiz, which everyone enjoyed, then there was a raffle before taking to the training pitch for heads down.
After a morning of rain, it stayed dry for the Sleep Out but it was a cold evening out on the pitch, which really makes you think of those that have to do it every night and not within the safe compound of a football pitch.
Around £1,400 was raised for the YMCA and for AFC Totton in the Community projects, along with several of the sleeping bags used being collected after the event and donated to the Street Angels charity, so they can be distributed among the local homeless population.
Overall, it was a tremendously successful fundraising collaboration of various organisations to help support those in need within the community.
