THE DRAW FOR THE FIRST ROUND Proper of the Isuzu FA Trophy 2024/25 has handed AFC Totton a golden opportunity to exact revenge for their first league defeat of the season when Dorchester Town come to the Snows Stadium on Saturday 26 October.
The Magpies won 3-2 when the two sides met at the Avenue Stadium in Dorset in September, when a second-half brace from Olaf Koszela and a goal from former Sholing forward Wayne Robinson saw the home side recover from Charlie Austin’s first-half strike, with Dorchester holding on to win despite Scott Rendell’s late header to reduce the deficit.
That was the second of three consecutive league wins for Manager Tom Killick’s side. Having beaten Frome Town 4-0 at home prior to Totton’s visit, they then recorded another home win against Chertsey Town by a score of 3-1 to lift themselves into sixth place in the Southern League Premier Division South table. On Saturday (05 October 2024), with ex-Stags winger Marcus Daws newly-reinstated into their squad, Dorchester were held to a goalless draw in their Third Round Qualifying tie for the FA Trophy, before winning the resulting penalty shoot-out by five successful spot-kicks to Tivvy’s four.
IMMEDIATE RETURN: The draw for the Isuzu FA Trophy First Round will bring ex-Totton winger Marcus Daws back to the Snows Stadium with Dorchester Town on Saturday 26 October.
Before that, though, AFC Totton entertain Hanwell Town in the league on Saturday 12 October, before making the 145-mile journey to Bolitho Park to take on Plymouth Parkway on Tuesday 15 October. The visit of Dorchester will be the third of three consecutive home games, with Gloucester City coming to the Snows Stadium on Saturday 19 October and Taunton Town on Tuesday 22 October.
