RYAN GOSNEY SIGNS NEW DEAL

AFC Totton are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Ryan Gosney has signed a new deal with the club, becoming another important piece of business for the Stags this summer.

Since arriving at the Snows Stadium on the 1st of November 2024, Gosney has established himself as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the non-league, bringing experience, leadership and quality to the squad.

The goalkeeper made his debut for the Stags just one day after signing, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 away victory against Marlow on Saturday 2nd November 2024.

Gosney joined AFC Totton after a distinguished non-league career which included spells with Folland Sports, Winchester City, Sholing, Salisbury and Gosport Borough. During a nine-year spell with Sholing, he made more than 400 appearances and helped The Boatmen secure promotion to Step 3 alongside several cup successes.

The experienced shot-stopper then joined Salisbury in March 2024 and played a key role in their promotion to the National League South. Stags supporters will remember his standout performance in the Southern League Premier Division South Play-Off Final at the Snows Stadium, where his penalty-saving heroics helped Salisbury secure promotion.

Following a brief spell with Gosport Borough during the early part of the 2024/25 season, Gosney became available and made the move to AFC Totton, where he has since become an integral part of the squad.

Speaking on Ryan's new deal, Stags boss Scott Rendell said:

"Ryan has been a top-class addition for us since coming into the building in 2024. He's someone who has experienced all sides of non-league football and that shows in the way he approaches the game and carries himself around the club.

"As a goalkeeper, he gives us real confidence. He commands his area, makes important saves when we need them and has built strong relationships with the defenders in front of him.

"Just as importantly, he's a brilliant character and someone who represents AFC Totton in the right way. We're really pleased he's extended his stay with us."

Director of Football Dave Wright added:

"Ryan is exactly the type of player every successful team needs. He's experienced, dependable and someone who leads by example both on and off the pitch.

"Since I've been at the club, I've seen first-hand the impact he has on the squad. His standards are excellent and he has a real desire to help drive the club forward.
