Tyler Cordner Joins AFC Totton on Permanent Deal

AFC Totton are delighted to announce that defender Tyler Cordner will join the club on a permanent basis from 1st July 2026.

The centre-back spent the 2025/26 season at the Snows Stadium on loan from York City, making 43 league appearances and playing an integral role in the Stags' campaign as he quickly became a firm favourite among supporters.

Following a successful loan spell, Cordner will now make the move permanent from the 1st July, ensuring he remains a key part of AFC Totton's plans for the season ahead.

Now 27, Cordner brings a wealth of experience to the club, having made more than 200 senior appearances across the National League, National League South and the Football League. A product of AFC Bournemouth's academy, he gained valuable experience during loan spells with Havant & Waterlooville and Ebbsfleet United before going on to represent Scunthorpe United and Southend United in League Two.

Following a successful spell with Weymouth, Cordner joined Aldershot Town in 2022 and enjoyed a standout campaign, making 50 appearances, scoring nine goals and being named the club's Player of the Season. His leadership qualities were also recognised on the international stage when he captained England C against Wales C in March 2023.

A move to York City followed in the summer of 2023, before the defender arrived at AFC Totton on loan ahead of the 2025/26 season. His commanding displays, aerial presence and leadership throughout 43 league appearances made him an important figure within Scott Rendell's squad, leading the club to secure his services on a permanent basis.

He settled into the club brilliantly during his loan spell and consistently showed the qualities we're looking for both on and off the pitch. We're delighted to have reached an agreement that will see him join us permanently from 1st July and we're excited to see him continue his development in an AFC Totton shirt."

"Tyler was outstanding for us during his loan spell. He fitted into the group straight away and showed his quality week in, week out. We were keen to keep him at the club and we're delighted that he'll officially join us permanently from 1st July. He's a player who knows what we're about and will be a big part of what we're looking to achieve moving forward."
