TWO-MASSO! MIDFIELDER’S SCREAMERS STEER STAGS TO NERVY WIN!
AFC Totton emerged victorious in a dramatic 3-1 victory over a spirited Swindon Supermarine side, aided by a pair of crackers from Adam Tomasso.
The Stags made an electric start to the game and were rewarded in the eighth minute through ALFIE STANLEY; the forward pouncing on a loose ball inside the six-yard box before burying into an empty net.
As tempers flared and tackles flew in, the referee was forced to issue a couple of yellow cards to ensure the game continued in good nature, before ADAM TOMASSO fired a thunderbolt in the 35th minute beyond the reach of Louis Evans, sending the Snows Stadium into raptures.
The Marines were first off the blocks in the second period and a glaring opportunity by Levi Irving should have made the hosts pay as he bore down on goal, only for Lewis Noice, making his 100th appearance for the Stags, to thwart his effort.
A well-taken EDWARD WILLIAMS volley pulled a goal back for Swindon Supermarine on the 68th minute and sparked an intense period of pressure in the closing stages.
However, as Stuart Fleetwood’s men pushed for the equaliser, ADAM TOMASSO doubled his tally deep into stoppage time with a perfectly placed strike from outside of the box.
AFC Totton are in action on Wednesday evening with a trip to Gosport Borough, whilst Swindon Supermarine remain winless.
